We have worked through the multitude of challenges associated with a buildout project. Space planning, vendor organization, fixture location and specification, electrical, equipment location, flooring, plumbing, and more all have to be taken into consideration. We understand that most of clients are going through this process for the first time. It’s not something that they do on a regular basis. Many of the building owners and constructing companies do not deal with the special needs of scientific tenants. We only work with laboratories and their successful operation.

The Buildout and Decommissioning LabWorX (BDL) group works with our clients to decommission everything from a single piece of equipment to a whole facility. We work with research organizations and property owners alike to solve decommissioning issues.
The decommissioning group looks to identify and solve the root issues. We ask questions to determine the root issue and then create a plan in order to provide the smoothest path forward. Some of our projects a simple and straight forward. Some are much more complicated requiring our team to work with a number of parties.
The decommissioning group leverages the whole Potomac LabWorX team when necessary and appropriate in order to expedite the entire project. We remove equipment, resell equipment, recycle equipment, and can even arrange appropriate donations for your equipment. We work with a large number of education institutions that can accept your donations when it is appropriate.
We understand that a company shutting down part of their lab may be perceived negatively. We treat your project as confidential and allow any and all public disclosures to be handled by your designated organizations. Many of our clients do not want any information publicized. Many of our clients want us to calculate the weights of recycled materials. Many want to put out a press release regarding a donation to a qualifying organization. The decommissioning group works with your team to facilitate these objectives.
